When it comes to requests to use and reproduce works that fall under the category of old and valuable prints, there are numerous, complex issues and conservation aspects that have to be taken into consideration; for this reason, this special reading room offers intensive advice and as much assistance as possible with bibliographical research. Insofar as you are unable to order the titles you require via the electronic public catalogue, it is possible to submit your requests and orders by telephone or in writing, preferably by e-mail, to the reading room staff or to the head of the relevant department. We will make every effort, time and personnel permitting, to meet your requests.

At the same time, however, we must ask you to understand that we have the dual obligation to meet the right to information of the user on the one hand, and to ensure the care and preservation of the library collections on the other; therefore, use may be restricted where necessary and special rules may apply.
