Library of Contemporary History
The Library of Contemporary History is one of Europe's largest specialist libraries for contemporary history and an internationally renowned centre of historical research. The main collection of the library (approx. 380,000 volumes) is complemented by special collections.
The Library of Contemporary History (BfZ) produces its own publications, and organizes regular lectures and conferences. The BfZ has been integrated into the Württemberg State Library since 2000.
Through the Director of the BfZ, the library also has established strong links with the Historical Institute of the University of Stuttgart. The BfZ is an institutional member of numerous research and library networks.
