Friends of the Library

The Württemberg Library Society is an association of friends of the State Library, whose members include both private individuals and renowned companies.

Since it was founded in 1946,  its objective has been to work together with management to provide the Württemberg State Library  with both moral and financial support. The main emphases are on helping the library to perform its tasks, providing financial support for the acquisition of exceptional items  and supporting the public relations work of the library, in particular exhibitions,  thereby contributing to the cultural life of the city of Stuttgart.

In today's world of ever-increasing tasks in the modern media and information sector and ever-decreasing budgets, this support is more important than ever.

Each year, the Württemberg Library Society offers around ten lectures, two or three study trips and special guided tours of the library.
