Der Verband unterstand dem Kommandierenden Admiral norwegische Nordküste.
Einsatzgebiet waren die Bereiche der Kommandanten der Seeverteidigung von
Molde, Drontheim, Sandnessjöen.

Im Mai 1944 wurde der Verband geteilt in den 3. und 4. KSV.
